Secret Garden in Paris
'I have the feeling that I was born in Vienna in order to live in Paris.'–Romy Schneider
One of my favourite books as a child was the Secret Garden by Frances Hodgen Burnett. I always loved the idea of a secret garden behind a beautiful old door. You know the kind, where the weathered paint reveals the layers of time and if the door could speak, all the tales it would tell. And such a table would sit in my fairytale garden, looking like it had always been there. Ivy and flowers growing around its decorative Rococo base and two perfectly formed white chairs either side in a sea of multicloured blooms. Maybe there is a jug of iced tea or a bowl of vanilla ice cream on its marble top, or just a good book. Ah, the simple pleasures.
And while this table might not be simple in style it can be combined perfectly either indoors or out with simple modern furniture and interior as a romantic accent or you can go all in and decorate your whole room in boudoir chic. It's all possible.
