Curioser and curioser...
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.” - Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
I was so excitied when I saw these, and I had to fight tooth and nail because they are very special indeed. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Lewis Carroll with the Tenniel illustrations coloured by Fritz Kredel 1st Edition, 1946, NY Edition Special Edition. Published by Random House. Still in the original box and with a lovely inscription which reads: 'Aubrey and Suzanne Kidd'. And if you are like me then you just want to know the whole story. Where did the book come from and who did it belong to? Was it a gift or passed down? I did alot of research but unfortunatley I didn't get very far. But what I did find was a picture of a picturesque little house in Virginia, where the inscription came from. So at that time, our books did live there with the family Kidd.
